are you ready to train?

ARE YOU READY TO TRAIN

Training at Sunwave is not a reward for being good at plumbing. It is a responsibility to shape people, protect standards, and multiply excellence. Because of that, our expectations for trainers are intentionally high. In addition to strong people skills, a love for work (especially hard work), and a giving mentality, trainers at Sunwave must consistently demonstrate the following core qualities:

C.A.P.E.

(because truly great leaders wear one)

Clarity:

You understand plumbing deeply enough to simplify it. You can break complex work into clear steps and explain not only what to do, but why it matters. You teach principles, not just procedures.

Attentiveness:

You allow people to struggle productively without rescuing or rushing them. You understand that growth takes time and that mistakes, when handled well, are part of learning.

Purpose:

You see leadership as responsibility and sacrifice. You desire to train because you want others to have a bigger and better future, not because of status, authority, or recognition.

Empowerment:

You want others to win enough to tell them the truth. You are willing to have hard, uncomfortable conversations for the sake of someone’s growth, even when it costs you emotionally or relationally.

SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONS FOR TRAINERS

  • You are consistently meeting or exceeding Level 4 Technician Expectations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, at a minimum.

  • You can confidently and successfully lead jobs of any size, including complex diagnostics and high-stakes customer situations.

  • You have the speed, efficiency, and organization required to train others without sacrificing same-day service quality or customer experience.

  • You consistently increase value for customers through ethical upselling and clear communication, not pressure or shortcuts.

  • You are able to step back and teach rather than take over, even when doing it yourself would be faster or easier.

  • You proactively look for and create training opportunities instead of waiting to be asked.

  • You are capable of holding people accountable to a high standard through direct, respectful, and sometimes uncomfortable conversations, putting the needs of the organization above personal comfort.

  • You maintain an average ticket price of $850 or above over a 60-day period and keep personal van revenue above $35,000 per month.

  • You demonstrate total integrity across workmanship, communication, pricing, and internal relationships, even when no one is watching.

  • You are actively pushing yourself to become a better plumber, leader, and teammate through learning, feedback, and self-reflection.

  • You are organized, prepared, and intentional in how you approach training, not reactive or improvised.

  • People consistently describe you as energizing, steady, and rejuvenating to work with. You show up with a good attitude, ready to serve, regardless of circumstances.
